Die Platte der Woche kommt von den Under 45 aus Lyon. Sounds of Subterrania empfiehlt dazu den Genuss eines Espresso Martini .

01. Under 45 – Cancelled LP (Destructure)
Warum müssen manche Platten einfach immer so kurz sein? Um damit auch mit dem einzigen Wermutstropfen dieser Platte zu beginnen. Cancelled läuft auf 45 und vereint 8 Songs. Aber von Anfang an- Jake und Fabian, aktiv bei Bleakness, haben zusammen mit Pascal von Faux Depart die konzertfreie Zeit der vergangenen Monate genutzt und eine neue Band gestartet. Die Bandinfo gibt mit dem kurzen Zitat: „The single biggest killer for men under 45, is suicide.“ Namen und musikalische Marschrichtung vor.
Destructure nennt The Fall, Public Image Limited und UK Decay als Einflüsse. Ich würde sie lieber zwischen Interrobang? und Frustration verortet wissen. Ähnlich wie bei Interrobang? catcht mich diese britisch, aristokratische Artikulation der Worte.
Wem bei den aktuell angesagten Postpunk Bands zu wenig Punk drin ist, sollte die Scheibe antesten, Under 45 hat ähnliches Kultband-Potential wie Frustration.

02. IconAClass - Changing Culture With Revolvers LP ( Sabotage)
Ursprünglich ist IconAClass, das neue Projekt von Will Brooks aus New York, Vielen besser bekannt als MC Dälek, 2015 als Kassette erschienen. Über Wiener Umwege ist es in Bremen auf dem Tisch von Franz gelandet. Ich bin nun kein Experte für Hip Hop, allerdings hat mich Dälek mit seinem düsteren, dystopischen Sounds voller Krach und Sperrigkeit von Anfang an gecatcht. Statt Bling Bling gibt es hier Teer und ist damit näher an meiner Gefühlswelt als 90% aller Punkrockbands. Bei IconAClass arbeitet Dälek mit Dev-One als zusätzlichen MC und Mixmaster Motive als DJ zusammen und diese konträre Zweistimmigkeit bringt die Songs massiv voran und erweitert Däleks Kosmos um eine weitere Facette. Ein guter Einstieg für Punker, die auch mal Hip Hop hören und dies nicht heimlich tun wollen.

03. Hasta La Vista – s/t (Angry Voices)
Das Album ist schon etwas älter, aber mir erst jetzt unter die Finger gekommen. Hasta La Vista aus Polen spielen schnellen Anarchopunk der mich stark an Post-Regiment mit einer Brise Unhinged erinnert. Ich mag dieses Wechselspiel zwischen weiblicher und männlicher Stimme, so daß das Geprügel zusätzlich durch die kurzen Sprecheinlagen noch eindringlicher wird. Ein wirklich großes Lob geht an dieser Stelle mal an David von Angry Voices. Seit Jahren veröffentlicht er viele polnische Bands, obwohl gerade der westdeutsche Blick sich immer nach Westen bzw. nach Norden richtet. Daß gerade die osteuropäische Szene extrem facettenreich und experimentierfreudig ist, wird gerne vergessen und ist auch ein kleines Armutszeugnis bzw. ein Hinweis auf musikalische Arroganz. Ich nehme mich da jetzt nicht raus und sehe Davids Arbeit als Ansporn, mich mehr mit unserem nahen Nachbarn zu beschäftigen, denn da gibt es viele Bands und Labels zu entdecken.

Why do some records just always have to be so short? To start with the only downer of bitterness on this record. Canceled runs on 45 and combines 8 songs. But from the beginning - Jake and Fabian, active in Bleakness, have used the concert-free time of the past months together with Pascal from Faux Depart and started a new band. The band info gives with the short quote: "The single biggest killer for men under 45, is suicide." the name and musical direction.
Destructure names The Fall, Public Image Limited and UK Decay as influences. I would prefer something between Interrobang? and Frustration. Similar to Interrobang? the british, aristocratic articulation of words catches me.

I'm not an expert on hip hop, but Dälek caught me from the start with his dark, dystopian sounds full of noise and bulkiness. Instead of bling bling, there is tar and it is closer to my emotional world than 90% of all punk rock bands. At IconAClass, Dälek works with Dev-One as an additional MC and Mixmaster Motive as a DJ and this contradicting two-part voice brings the songs forward massively and adds another facet to Dälek's cosmos. A good start for punkers who also listen to hip hop from time to time and do not want to do so in secret.

03. Hasta La Vista – s/t (Angry Voices)
The album is a bit older, but I got my hands on it now. Hasta La Vista from Poland play fast anarchopunk that reminds me a lot of Post-Regiment with a breeze of Unhinged. I like this interplay between female and male voices, so that the beating becomes even more urgent through the short interludes. A really big praise at this point goes to David from Angry Voices. He has been publishing many Polish bands for years, although the West German gaze is always directed towards the west or north. The fact that the Eastern European scene in particular is extremely multifaceted and eager to experiment is often forgotten and is also a small indictment of poverty or an indication of musical arrogance. I don't take myself out of this and see David's work as an incentive to deal more with our close neighbors, because there are many bands and labels to discover.
